Our Name’s Origin
The name “Santiago Guesthouse” is inspired by the profound value of life’s journey—the experiences we gain, the people we meet, and the pursuit of dreams. We hope this space becomes a place where every guest discovers something new and weaves their own unique story.
Over the past 10 years, countless stories have unfolded here—guests who met and later married, or those who returned to their home countries to open guesthouses inspired by their stay. Santiago Guesthouse serves as a crossroads for backpackers, encouraging new beginnings and lifelong connections.
Santiago Guesthouse Kyoto
Santiago Guest house Kyoto features a shared lounge with a cafe which is renovated in March 2018. The property offers free WiFi, lockers and a coin launderette. Gojozaka Bus Stop is a minute’s walk from the property, while JR Kyoto Train Station is a 10-minute public bus ride away.
Santiago Guest house Kyoto is a 9-minute walk from Kiyomizu Gojo Station, and a 12-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Higashiyama area is only a 3-minute walk away, while the central Gion area is a 7-minute walk away.
The cozy cafe on the ground floor serves curry specialties prepared by Nepalese chef, as well as various meals including sandwiches. Guests can enjoy meals at the cafe for a discounted price.
